When did you get started with fitness?

I grew up in Zagreb, Croatia and moved to Melbourne, Australia 10 years ago. What a life changing journey this has been! I had to adapt to so many changes and learn so many new things. This gave me no choice but to stand my ground, familiarize myself with the new world and step ahead. Having to deal with so many life changes at 16, gave me the strong attitude now to always go that extra mile and not be afraid of changes. I couldn’t speak one world of English either and had to do everything I can to catch up with everyone else! Lucky for me, I love challenges and love taking things to the new level. I love discovering things and aiming for what others see as ‘impossible’.

I also absolutely love hot and sunny days, beach, palm trees, tanning. I decided to move to the Gold Coast, Australia and chase my dreams of competing in fitness competitions and living in a tropical state on the beach. It all seemed a bit out of reach and too good to be true if it worked out the way I imagined but once again, I just went for it and never looked back.

This was the hardest decision for me, but also the best decision I have ever made.

Living on the beach and enjoying hot sunny days every day of the year inspired me even more to get into fitness and healthy lifestyle! Currently I train and work as a Personal Trainer at Empire Fitness Centre and I love my job there! I also help others world – wide with Diet, Supplement and Training Plans! I do online coaching too and I just launched my Fitness Model Ebook!

How do you stay so motivated? What drives you?

When you feed your body the right nutrients each day and keep it consistent, it is amazing how the body responds. When I eat healthy and train, I feel amazing and look great too. For me, this is something I want to attain and I never want to stop being healthy & fit! I also coach so many girls world –wide so it is important to me to stay on track with my own goals so my clients can look up to me.

I always want to see results – off season and on season and I am always prepared to do and eat whatever it takes to make an impression. I love helping others and encouraging them to do the same – be the best they can be! Some people just need a little push, guidance, love and support – once you start believing you can do it, your already half way there!

I also have a lot of girls, who look up to me, and they may not know this, but they actually motivate me to keep doing my best! I love making people smile and helping someone else on their fitness journey. If they see me healthy, fit and happy and they are amazed by my accomplishments then I want to try and help them see how it feels being so proud of your own efforts.

What has been the hardest obstacle for you to overcome?

I had to learn to take risks and always stay positive. When I moved to Australia at the age of 16 I had to learn English, I had to familiarise myself with what Australia has to offer and make new friends. It was a huge life changing journey but this thought me to be brave and always take chances. This changed me so much and gave me courage to always take risks if I think I could do better. I ended up moving to a different state with no job, knowing I will be successful in the fitness industry and happy! My persistence and strong will got me there! After 3 years on the beautiful sunny Gold Coast I now run an amazing personal training business, run my own fitness website www.vlatkadragic.com where I help girls world wide with Diet, Supplement and Training Plans, and also launched my Fitness Model Bible Ebook www.fitnessmodelbible.com

My curiosity always pushed me to try new things, do more shows, improve my body, learn more! At the start I was so focused on training that I didn’t realise it was all about the diet. I got in a routine of eating healthy and according to my goals, and I got amazing results. Ongoing consistency and drive is sometimes hard to find but now that I am living the lifestyle, I would never look back.

What does your current training schedule/program look like?

  • Mon: Legs
  • Tues: Shoulders and Back
  • Weds: Biceps and Triceps
  • Thurs: Legs
  • Fri: Full upper body circuits & Abs
  • Sat: Stair Master cardio only
  • Sun: Rest

I train with light weights and do lots of supersets, tri-sets and circuits.

I do moderate paste cardio either at the beach walking my puppy or at the gym on a Stair Master / Cross trainer. I live on the Gold Coast right on the beach so I am lucky enough to enjoy this lifestyle and take an advantage of doing my cardio at the beach every day! I usually do 30-45min 5- 6 times a week. I enjoy it and take that time to think about my day.

Actually two of my biggest dreams came true this year! I won WBFF Bikini class in Australia and got awarded WBFF PRO card. I am also on current cover of biggest fitness magazine in the world – Oxygen Magazine!

Don’t give up on trying to be the best version of yourself – the best you can be! Don’t compare yourself to others yet focus on how you can improve, physically and mentally. Always keep healthy, full of life, focus, and positive attitude. Always have can-do attitude towards life and you will get far!
