Name: Valentin Mitev
Weight: 220 Lbs
Occupation: Personal Trainer & Fitness Model
Achievements: I have many achievements throughout the years but the most important one is that I managed to build a fitness body without any steroids and forbidden supplements. I was and still am against that, thus for it was extremely hard for me to do it naturally considering my height.
When did you get started with fitness?
I started with fitness when I was 18 years old (2010).
Right after I finished my last year in the sports academy, I stepped in a gym for a first time. It was strange for me to see all these big guys training like it was a matter of life and death, attractive girls giving the treadmill a hard time, sweat and dedication in the air. Then I realized that it will not be easy.
Like every new guy in the gym I was confused and unconfident – how to start, what to do first.
Day after day I gained strength and sense of direction.
I finally grew confident that my dreams could be fulfilled.
How do you stay so motivated? What drives you?
My motivations are many, but the most significant one is my dream to achieve perfection (although there is no such thing) and help the people along the road. I feel the support around me and that is priceless. This is what drives me further and makes me stronger mentally. The rest is hard work and dedication.
What has been the hardest obstacle for you to overcome?
The hardest obstacle to overcome was always myself.
You have to motivate yourself every single day in order to continue further and do greater.
What does your current training schedule/program look like?
Currently I am in a cutting period. My programs are very intense. I train almost every day, twice a day. I try to use relatively heavy weights and do as much reps as I can. This is the best way for me to loose fat and get definition.
Give us a breakdown of your daily diet.
My nutrition plan is very strict and balanced. I eat 6 times a day in every 2 hours.
Do you take any supplements to reach your fitness goals
I do not use any supplements as I rely only on clean food, good sleep and lots of training. Sometimes when I am on the go and have not enough food, I eat a protein bar.
What is your single biggest “Fitness” related accomplishment?
I won 3 different modeling competitions with 1st place.
Though the most important accomplishments are my client`s. When they see the results and feel happy with it, I feel significant and needful.
Is there anyone in the fitness industry you look up to?
My only idol and motivator is my cousin Lazar Angelov. I would never reach this far if not for him.
He helps me a lot to progress further and get closer to my dream.
Name a fitness “Myth” that just isn’t true no matter how many times you hear it?
One of the many fitness myths is that you have to take steroids and hormones in order to achieve something. This is not true and I am an example of that.
It is all about discipline and motivation.
