Name: Josef Rakich
Residence: New Zealand
Weight: 172 Lbs
I have many different jobs, my main job being a personal trainer, but I’m also a nutritionist, a male stripper, a topless waiter, an online personal trainer, and i do some fitness modeling here and there.
Achievements: Transforming my physique.
When did you get started with fitness?
I have been into sports my whole life and have played soccer seriously from a young age. I was striker for the top team in 1st division U18, and also played premier league soccer. I was hard out into my skating as well on and off over the years, made a few videos, had a sponsor, but now the only sport i do is bodybuilding. I believe it’s the ultimate sport. I never really had any interest in the weights, to be honest I actually hated it when I was at school and we had weight rooms (probably because I was the skinniest and weakest kid in the class). But then one day I joined a gym, started doing curls for the girls, and over time I started to notice some progress. As I noticed progress, I got more serious about how I was training and how I was eating, I learned things and applied them to myself and started to transform my physique completely. Lifting weights is much more than just curls for the girls now, its something much deeper. This is my passion.
What drives you to be so fit?
Being different i guess. Being average is the worst thing you can be, i don’t want to be some unfit fat guy who just sits on his couch and watches TV, i want to be fit, healthy, and strong. That in itself just being who you want to be is enough motivation to give me the drive to push harder and to achieve what i want to achieve. I want to have the best physique on this planet second to none. That is what drives me, every day, every workout, every set, every rep, every meal, every mouthful.
What has been the hardest obstacle for you to overcome?
Everything is hard, you just have to push harder, that’s how you overcome obstacles. Diet is hard yeah, but once you know what you want to achieve it’s a walk in the park. People come up to me and say “Don’t you wish you could have a piece of cake?”, “How can you not eat cake?” Well I would simply rather achieve a good physique than satisfy my taste buds for 50 seconds and mix up my daily macros and calorie requirements. It all comes down to what do you want most.
Could you tell us about your current training program?
I like to train each main muscle group at high volume 1x per week with abs/calf’s 2x per week (depending on DOMS). My routine as such always changes up every now and again I always like to add in new things, I usually train by time I try to spend 1.5 hours in the gym at a time.

What does your diet look like?
My diet is the same day to day, week to week, every meal, bang, bang, bang. Dinner is the only meal which changes everyday, and for that meal I just eyeball and fit it into my daily macros breakdown, which for that meal is 50g protein, 30g carbs, 20g fat. My overall macros breakdown for the day however (at the moment, bulking) is 300g protein, 330g carbs, 90g fat. The foods which my diet consists most of are:
– Brown rice
– Mixed Veggies
– Protein powders
– Peanut butter
Do you take any supplements?
What Is Your Favorite Body Part To Train?
This always changes for me, at the moment i’m liking triceps, always getting a crazy arm pump, feels good.
If you could start back from the first day you started training would you do anything different?
Get my diet sorted ASAP! I mucked around for too long.
Is there anyone in the fitness industry you look up to?
– Frank Zane
– Greg Plitt
– Kane Sumabat
