When did you get started with fitness?
I was always very thin (no matter what or how much I ate) and when I hit the 11th grade I gained 30 pounds in less than a year. It devastated me and I had no idea how to get the weight off. I tried going to a personal trainer thinking if I work out I can still eat whatever I want..definitely NOT the case. I was in a rut and I was extremely depressed. I developed an eating disorder and ended up in the hospital in 2008. At this point I was 98 pounds, my hair was falling out, I was in excruciating pain, and had serious intestinal problems. I was terrified! After my surgeries, I spent a little over a week in the hospital recovering, where I was able to do alot of thinking. I decided I was going to beat this disorder. I started educating myself on clean eating, and I started going to the gym with my husband regularly. I will say that I was terrified of eating every 2 to 3 hours but it really changed my body. Yes I put on weight, but instead of fat it was lean muscle, and I was able to sculpt my body and build the figure that I’ve always wanted.
What drives you to be so fit?
I think alot of it comes from the depression that I felt being overweight, and then with the eating disorder. I will never let myself get to that point again.
What has been the hardest obstacle for you to overcome?
I would have to say overcoming my disorder. It took almost a full year to recover 100 percent.

Slap myself for not starting earlier! 😉
Is there anyone in the fitness industry you look up to?
I look up to alot of people, it takes so much dedication to stick with it and look the way all these athletes do year round. My favorites are Jamie Eason and Jessica Paxson, they are great girls!
Final advice for readers?
If you have the motivation to get started, then stick it out and stay with it. The physical results are not going to happen over night, but the feeling of accomplishment will, and thats the first step to feeling better about yourself. “The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.” -Unknown
